We are pleased to announce the Harvey Sohi Fund in Civil Engineering at UBC.
Anyone that knew Harvey knew how dedicated he was to his education. Harvey exemplified his passion for education by continuously exceeding the goals he set for himself. He also inspired and encouraged others in his network to continuously challenge themselves and to pursue further education. He attended LA Matheson Secondary School in Surrey, British Columbia, then enrolled at the University of British Columbia with the goal of obtaining his designation as a civil engineer. Harvey completed three years of the civil engineering program, as well as two co-op placements. He had a great relationship with his peers and professors, and made a substantial impact on everyone he crossed paths with.
The Harvey Sohi Fund is an endowment that has been established at the University of British Columbia, where Harvey was on track to complete his Civil engineering degree. This fund allows for an annual bursary to be paid out to a student in civil engineering facing financial hardship.
The impact of your support
To memorialize Harvey’s passion for education, the Harvey Sohi Foundation has created the Harvey Sohi Fund in Civil Engineering. Your gift will pay tribute to Harvey’s life by supporting students following in his footsteps at UBC. The endowment will perpetually support students through their education, which is an impactful imprint of Harvey’s legacy.
